A TRAVEL COMPANION THAT WENT BEYOND EXPECTATIONS
The first iPhone I ever had in my hand was the iPhone 5.
It became an important part of many of my journeys and supported me through countless photographs, memories and everyday moments. When I initially started using an iPhone, the camera was one of the main reasons I chose it.
But over time, I discovered that an iPhone was much more than just a camera.
It became a kind of digital diary.
Every journey, every place, every random moment and every beautiful view could be saved instantly. Looking back at those photographs today brings back memories that I might otherwise have forgotten.
For someone learning photography, I also found the iPhone to be a surprisingly good tool. It allowed me to experiment with composition, lighting, angles and perspectives without carrying a dedicated camera everywhere.
iPhone users will probably understand exactly what I mean.
CLICKS THROUGH MY LENS
This is not just something I say because I owned an iPhone.
My experience with the iPhone 5 genuinely encouraged me to take more photographs.
During my travels, especially in places like Munnar, I captured many photographs that received appreciation from the people around me. Those moments gave me more confidence to explore photography.
As a travel blogger, having a camera that is always in my pocket is a huge advantage.
No complicated setup.
No heavy camera bag.
Just take the phone out, frame the scene and capture the moment.
For me, the iPhone became one of the most useful pieces of travel gear I had.
Here are some of the photographs I captured during those days.
IPHONE SE – THE REAL EXPERIENCE
Moving from the iPhone 5 to the iPhone SE felt like a meaningful upgrade for me.
The iPhone SE offered a familiar compact design while bringing newer internal hardware and improved camera capabilities. It also introduced features such as Live Photos, which made capturing everyday moments more interesting.
The biggest lesson for me was simple:
The outside may look familiar, but what is inside can make a huge difference.
The iPhone SE continued the compact design language that Apple had established with earlier iPhone models, while offering newer-generation performance.
At the time, I felt the iPhone SE was an excellent option for someone who wanted a smaller iPhone without spending as much as some of the newer models.
And for my photography needs, it went beyond my expectations.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH IPHONE PHOTOGRAPHY
From my experience, iPhones have always been reliable companions during my travels.
As a travel blogger, I don't always want to carry heavy photography equipment. Sometimes I simply want to walk, explore and enjoy the destination.
That is where the iPhone became valuable to me.
It was always there in my pocket, ready to capture a landscape, a temple, a village road, a train journey, a beach, a family moment or even something completely unexpected.
More importantly, these photographs became memories.
Years later, when I look at them, I don't just see pixels on a screen. I remember where I was, what I was doing and how I felt at that particular moment.
That is what makes a good camera special.
For me, the journey from the iPhone 5 to the iPhone SE was not simply about upgrading a phone.
It was about discovering photography, documenting my travels and carrying a little piece of every journey with me.
The best travel camera is sometimes the one you already have in your hand.
